Make Typos No More With Good Copywriting

Since everyone has had to go through times in schooling and work where there have been typos seen or made, everyone knows how frustrating it can be to work on a document for a very long time only to have it be riddled with small typos that were not noticed throughout the revision process.

There are many techniques that are available to ensure that typos do not make it into final presentations, reports, or documents, but one of the best ways is to have someone else go through the work. It is amazing, but simply having someone else read over writing, numbers, or other types of information in a document dramatically increases the chances of having a perfect document. These services, or these helps, are called "copywriting services." Utilizing these services is often the best and most efficient way to speed up the revision and completion processes of documentation and writing. Hiring individuals to take care of copywriting allows them to look specifically for what the document says, how the writing style affects the overall message of the document, as well as basic grammar and punctuation proofreading. All of these copywriting services can also be performed simultaneously by the same individual, so it becomes an even more efficient process.

The benefits of having documents looked over by those with strong writing skills are conducive to a string of strong and persuasive final documents. Also, copywriting services may include helping those with a smaller set of writing skills to improve their ability to write quickly, efficiently, and correctly. Whether writing for an entire group of people or simply for a single person, it is vitally important to ensure that all of the aspects of writing a strong document are considered. By bringing in copywriting services, individuals and companies are able to have all of those considerations looked at by those that do not have a myriad of other responsibilities in a company. Being able to use a clear and effective mindset, these copywriters are able to keep all of the aspects of a good document in mind and help to improve or fix anything that may be lacking in a document. For all these reasons, it is easy to see why utilizing services focused around copywriting and other similar tasks can be incredibly beneficial for a company. Being able to consistently present strong and thorough documents allows others to see what a company may offer, how organized they are, and what care they take in their work, thus establishing them as reliable and creditable to all with whom they do business.

What's an RSS Feed?

In the modern age of social media and striving to gain interest and business through the Internet, one question that repeatedly comes up is, 'What's an RSS feed?' Many people who are stepping into the fray of blogging and social media sites, such as Twitter and Facebook, can find the terminology intimidating, and can often feel overwhelmed by it all. The question of what's an RSS feed, however, shouldn't be considered intimidating or complicated.

For starters, RSS basically stands for 'Real Simple Syndication.' It comprises a series of web feed formats that are often used in publishing information across the Internet. These formats can include, but are not limited to, blogs (web log journals), news headlines and stories, and also audio and video. What makes feeds so important to the exchange of information across the Internet is that it standardizes the format. In other words, when using an feed to publish content, it's safe to know that subscribers will be able to read or view the content put forth.

The 'feed' part of RSS is the document that is created. This can also be referred to as a 'channel' or 'web feed.' These 'feeds' can include either the entire text or merely a summary of its contents, as well as the date it was published and the author, if they choose to list this information.

Benefits of a feed

When trying to understand what's an RSS feed, one common question or concern that comes up has to do with its benefits. After all, for an average Internet user unfamiliar with the scope and potential of feeds, these benefits may seem somewhat obscured by the technology.

When using RSS feeds, individuals can syndicate the content they produce automatically. By syndicating the content in this way, a publisher can have the headline, title, audio or video that is published listed automatically on other sites -those that have subscribed to the RSS feed. Sound a bit confusing? Think of it in terms of national news: one person writes an article about a major news event. That article is then published by a number of different affiliate networks, from local to other national agencies at the same time. That is the premise of syndication. It's a powerful tool widely used throughout the Internet.

Back to understanding what's an RSS feed, though. Readers find significant advantage in using an feed because they can subscribe to particular content that interests them, being informed about updates, postings, and publications in real time.

How to use a RSS feed

Finding out how to use a feed is not as complicated as it may seem. Although the format runs off of the XML platform, it isn't a requirement that one know much about web design or code writing in order to use it. There are a host of sites crawling along the Internet that set up the feed for each person. Even many hosting services offer assistance in getting a RSS feed set up for their customers. In most cases, a user will either enter the URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) -a fancy term for the feed's name- or click on an icon to subscribe to the feed. This latter option has become increasingly popular in recent years and has streamlined the process of networking through RSS feeds.

In most cases, it isn't necessary to understand the minutia of HTML programming or web design to know how to use a RSS feed, yet there are options available that can help maximize the networking power of feeds throughout the Internet.

So now we've defined what's an RSS feed and subsequently, the power of using feeds will become more apparent once you are aware of them and how prevalent they are. RSS feeds are perhaps one of the strongest marketing tools available for individuals and businesses alike that are attempting to build a network of people interested in the information they can provide and, ultimately, the services and products they offer.

When you're ready to learn how to use a RSS feed, it will become readily apparent how easy it can be.

Commonsense Approach to Domestic Violence

Domestic violence the catch phrase for the past ten years. People use the words as if they represent an incurable disease rather than what it really is, deplorable human behaviors. It doesn't matter how many times Oprah, Sally, or Montel talk about domestic violence it is still happening to many of their audience members and viewers, why?

In this society we have a bad habit of excusing women of being responsible for themselves, thus leaving them as victims to the madness of their abusers. It's imperative women understand their bodies and minds are to be treated with respect and honor, and it is within their power to enforce treatment befitting a human being.

Enforce? Yes, if they're in an environment that is unhappy due to beatings and cruel criticisms it's their duty to move to safer ground, a place where negative words and actions are not levied against them. Women need to know, if a man or woman loves them enough to fill a mustard seed they would never give them a black eye, bruise ribs, shoot or cut them, nor would they ever open their mouths to utter degrading terms directed at them. Love should never humiliate or beat you silly.

For the past decade talk shows have filled the airways with sad stories of living with violently insane persons but they left out a significant part, the part of the woman. Men and women both sit on talk shows claiming they can't control their behavior, they blame their parents and babysitters for abusing them, they blame the parish priest for molesting them, they blame society for not removing them from an abusive household as children, they blame the gun manufacturer, they blame their loved ones for upsetting them and the list goes on. When will the blaming to justify their abuse stop?

It'll stop when women (and men) stop making excuses for why their "love ones" hit, kick, bite, and degrade them. It'll stop when women walk away the first time a man (or woman) assault them, instead of, enduring twenty years pretending he or she's going to magically change.

Recently I saw a talk show discussing domestic violence and I was deeply sadden by the guest speaker's summation of domestic violence. There was a theme emerging, the only person to blame is the perpetrator, after all they're mentally ill. Not once did she point out how victims aren't victims until they surrender their power, which gave the impression she was saying the victims aren't responsibility for themselves.

I'm not saying they (as in the victim) can control anyone but themselves, no I'm saying there's always something the "victim" can do to legitimately protect themselves from further harm. Are these options perfect? The answer is no, but, at least the "victim" would be attempting to do something rather than throwing their hands in the air and accepting the harsh treatment as facts of life.

After watching the show I soon discovered other women who were also put off by the so-called abuse expert's explanations and comments. Like me they were left with a sour taste in their mouth on how women are encouraged to remain passive and not pro-active to the first signs of abuse. There's power in saying and meaning, no I will not permit you to hit me ever, but somehow it seems these experts are trying to preserve victimhood.

Three women confided in me their reasons for being disappointed with the show's guest.

"I lived with abuse for fifteen years. Every weekend I wore a black eye. One day I woke up and thought to myself, I don't hit him so why should I let him hit me. That's when the light came on, I should be treated the way I treat him. I took responsibility for my allowing this man to hit me. I decided he wouldn't hit me anymore and got out. Who cares how mentally ill he is, I have to be sane for me and see where my power lies." VPalmer

"Expert huh? Women will always be victimized if they never see by not reacting with action, as in getting out, when abuse first starts they're enabling the abuser. Why is it so hard to just say that instead of all that beating around the bush." anonymous

"I'm disgusted. Women can count on future generations being abused because there's no encouragement for them to feel strong and in charge of themselves." Lee

It's time we, as human beings, take responsibility for our futures the way God intended and stop handing over our power to decide our own fates to uncaring and abusive people. REMEMBER this, someone giving you a black eye is not a sign they love you, it's a sign they have issues that has nothing to do with you and it's time for you to get away from them.

Is Your Authentic Designer Handbag Really Authentic?

So, you have just bought a new designer handbag. Maybe you have had your eye on a Christian Dior Saddle Handbag, or Gucci Jackie-O that you know your friends will drool over . You got a huge discount off of the hefty retail price and you're feeling pretty good about yourself. But now you are wondering- is my designer handbag authentic.

Determining the authenticity on any product can be a little tricky, but if you know the basics, you will be able to spot a fake in just a few seconds.

One of the best ways to ensure your new handbag is authentic is to look at the bag itself. Designer handbags are popular and cost as much as they due because first and for-most they are made from quality materials. Take a good look at the stitching. There should be no loose or missing stitches, the color of the thread should match the main color of the bag and the stitches should be evenly spaced. If the handbag is leather, the logo should be engraved, not just printed on the leather.

Also take a look at the hardware. All of the hardware should match in color and sheen. The hardware should also be free of scratches. Many manufactures, including Gucci, Fendi and Prada, protect their hardware with a removable plastic cover that is to be removed only after it has been purchased. The brand name or logo should be engraved, not embossed or simply printed on the hardware. You can also find the brand name of logo engraved on the strap hardware on Gucci, Fendi, Prada, Chanel.

Inspect the material the bag; lining, hardware and accents are made of. Many handbags are made of different types of leather, from Lambskin, Calfskin, Goatskin and Patent Leather, but it is easy to distinguish if the leather is of a good quality or not. The lining is usually made of a satin material that has a nice shine to it and most designer handbags have the name brand name or logo on the lining. Designers almost always use leather accents, not plastic. Some purses have straps that are specially coated and seem to be artificial. However a quick look at the edge of the strap, usually near a stitched joint, should reveal a leather core.

Is there an authenticity card. An authenticity card is a little card that usually has the manufactures logo embossed on the front and has some information about the product you purchased and sometimes includes a magnetic strip, bar code. Many manufacturers, including Gucci, Prada, Fendi, Kate Spade and Coach, use these cards.

Check for a serial number. Not all manufacturers use serial numbers, but many do. The serial number for Fendi purses can be found on the inside pocket. Simply turn the pocket inside out and there will be a printed number on the fabric or possibly on the leather tag. Gucci includes a small leather tag on the zipper seam of the handbag which includes a serial number.

If you shop wisely, and inspect the bag carefully, you will be able to spot a fake from a mile away.

Ascendance of Commodity Trading in India

Investing in commodities has long been the cherished dream for numerous retail investors who have been looking out for avenues to diversify their portfolios beyond shares, bonds and real estate. Until the recent past retail investors could do very little to actually invest in popular age-old stock like gold, silver and oil. But with the setting up of multiple commodity exchanges in our country, retail investors have finally got a window to trade in commodity futures in a hassle free and seamless manner using the guidance of commodity research analysts and their research reports.

Commodities are leveraged products where one needs to pay initial margin to take position while trading, trade analysts are of the opinion that after equity trading, commodity trading is going to be the next big thing for investors at large. From a broader perspective the global commodity market is about three times larger than equity markets.

In India the commodity markets is still in its nascent stage but it is expected to grow rapidly taking a cue from its global counterparts. Commodity trading in India is regulated by the forwards markets commission (FMC) which is headquartered in Mumbai. In India commodities are traded largely on three exchanges i.e. NCDEX, MCX, ICEX. A whole variety of commodities can be traded on these exchanges right from popular metals like gold to daily useful things like edible oil.

Commodity trading is pretty much similar to equity market trading, however, here there are two principal markets i.e. spot market and derivative market. Spot market is the market where commodities are bought or sold for immediate delivery, commodities derivatives market caters to various financial instruments where commodities as an underlying asset are traded. To enable an investor to take informed decisions on commodity trading he or she would depend on commodity research reports prepared regularly by research analysts.

These reports are prepared uniquely for each commodity and are sought after to make prudent investment decisions by investors. With the popularity of commodity trading gaining momentum every year, competent commodity research analysts and their commodity research are both very much being sought after by both small and large investors. The recent rally of gold trading has resulted in premium demand of gold centric commodity research reports prepared by specialized analysts. These commodity research reports would be prepared by observing and taking note of important changes concerning that particular commodity.

Critical analysis of such commodity research reports would enable traders as well as gold enthusiasts to take a call whether to pursue or cease interest in the valuable yellow metal. These commodity research reports can also act as good parameters to make observations on local and global trends be it upswing or gradual decline in a particular commodity. Thus to conclude the golden age of commodities seems to have recently started in India and in the coming years it would in all probability be the amongst the hot-bed investments for all Indian investors.

Beaten Bean Bulls

The month of May has not been kind to the soybean market. In fact, I'd say it's bearing the brunt of a perfect storm of bad news. Old crop, July soybeans are down more than 10% for the month while this year's crop is fairing only slightly better. This beat down has come from all angles, including weather, speculative traders and the global economy. However, once the dust settles, this may prove to be the best buy of the summer.

The U.S. agricultural markets are all well ahead of schedule thanks to the exceptionally warm spring. The most recent crop reports show that soybeans are 76% planted. This record high is 34% above the five-year average for this time of year and 31% ahead of last year's pace. These figures account for the 95% of U.S. acreage. This amazing crop progress has taken the starch out of the spring planting fear premium we normally see.

The crop progress reports signaled a cautionary note to the upward trend that began in earnest this past February. The early rally was fueled by the tightening global supply and exports to China far ahead of schedule. Small speculators and managed funds jumped on this rally in record numbers. I posted the overbought nature of the bean market when they set their first long position record in the March 20th Commitment of Traders report at 385,619 contracts. This compares to a net position of just 18,082 at the end of January. I think it's safe to assume that last week's record position of 480,586 will set the high water mark as many of these traders have been forced out of the market during the course of its 10% decline.

The final straw that's broken the soybean bull market's back has been the increasing concerns of a fractious European Union and its effect on the U.S. Dollar as a safe haven currency. The month of May has seen currency fly out of the European Union pushing the Euro to its lowest levels since September of 2010. Considering that the European Union is now China's largest trading partner, it's no wonder that China's economy has also shown unexpected weakness. The last link is that China is our number one soybean export market. Therefore, it is expected that China's purchases may slow, as U.S. beans become more expensive on the global market.

Now that we've identified the causes of the decline, let's focus on where the bean market is headed. The early plantings were no free lunch. The early spring and the continuation of the same weather patterns are now raising concerns. The lack of rain is causing a crust to form in the fields and hinder the germination process. Furthermore, farmers who intended on growing early wheat and late soybeans (double cropping), need more moisture in the soil to get their late beans in the ground. Estimates vary as to how much double crop beans will add to total U.S. output but there is certainty that the weather is the key for next couple of weeks.

Finally, now that the froth is off the top we can return our focus to the supply and demand factors that called so many speculative dollars to the market in the first place. Soybeans and more specifically, high protein soybean meal are near record low supply levels. The decline in South American production has amplified the emphasis on this summer's U.S. crop. Bellies must be filled regardless of the economic uncertainties. Global demand for food will be the last of the cutbacks made. Therefore, this decline is fortuitous for patient traders. There is strong technical support for this year's crop near current prices of $12.50 per bushel. There is the possibility that a complete, "risk off" event could push the market to $12.25 or lower. Either way, the supply and demand numbers certainly suggest a test of the all time highs above $16 per bushel is well within the realm of reality.

Tips to Caring for Society Finches

Society Finches are probably the most social of all the finch varieties. They should always be kept in groups, while their energetic nature is never aggressive, they can sometimes interfere with the breeding habits of other less social birds.

Origins: It is commonly believed that Society Finches were developed by Chinese and Japanese breeders hundreds of years ago, but their definitive ancestry is uncertain. The assumption is that they are a domestic variation of the White backed Munia (Lonchura striata). These birds tend to be about four and one quarter inches to four and three quarter inches tall. There are three basic color variations. Chocolate and white, pure white and fawn and white. There are also some birds referred to as tri coloreds, solid colored, and crested forms, which were developed in the 1930's. No two Society Finches are exactly alike.

Dietary Needs: Society finches are one of easiest finches to care for. They are inexpensive, and well tempered. They make a great pet for the novice bird keeper. They are a very hardy bird, and almost all illnesses can be attributed to a dirty cage, drafts, or and improper diet. Most pet stores offer a good finch seed mix. Society Finch owners should also provide their birds with dietary supplements such as greens like chickweed or spinach, and fruits like apples or pears, and egg foods. There is also available nutritious treats with seeds mixed with honey, fruits or vegetables. Another necessary item for your finches is grit with charcoal. Grit should be sprinkled on the floor of the cage or provided in a bowl. Grit provides necessary minerals and trace elements. Cuttlebone is also essential for providing calcium, which gives the bird a firm beak, strong eggshells when breeding, and avoids egg binding in the females. Society Finches which are fed a balanced diet and plenty of exercise should be healthy and able to avoid most illnesses.

Bathing: Society Finches also appreciate a bath several times a week. Provide a small bowl with about one half inch of water in it, or you can get a clip on bath house which attaches to the side of the cave. Finches also need to have their nails trimmed occasionally. It is important not to trim them too far and hit the vein, as they can bleed to death very quickly. Pet stores usually carry items such as nail trimmers and styptic powder to help stop the bleeding.

Parakeet Feathers

When you think of any bird one of the first things you will think of is feathers! Anyone that has owned a parakeet will be able to attest to the vast amount of feathers a parakeet has! Feathers outside the cage, feathers inside the cage, feathers in rooms that your parakeet hasn't been in...feathers everywhere! Whilst this can cause a little bit of a mess sometimes, feathers are actually a very important part of your parakeet's make up. A large loss of feathers may be a sign of disease, illness or some other issue that may be afflicting your feathered friend. Here are a few facts about Parakeet feathers you may not know about!

Illness Diagnosis

Molting and feather loss isn't something to be too worried about as this is a natural part of bird life. When your budgie preens, grooms and removes his or her own feathers this is all part of being a bird! Sometimes however feather loss can suggest illness or disease. Bald patches and massive feather loss are a good sign that something may not be quite right.

French Molt, caused by a virus, will cause the feathers to fall out and they will actually not grow back again. Whilst not all of your parakeets feathers will be affected by French molt the feathers used for balance and flying are usually affected which prevents the bird from flying. If your bird shares a cage and you suspect French molt it is best to separate the patient from the rest of the gang.

Other possible feather issues can include spiky feathers or unnatural lying feathers which can also be a sign that there is illness or disease with the parakeet. If you suspect your parakeet is unwell always consult your local vet!

Feathers for Flying

Without feathers the parakeet wouldn't be aerodynamic and wouldn't be able to fly! The parakeet's longer feathers on their wings and backsides allow them to balance and stay airborne for longer periods of time. Without feathers budgies would be funny little grown dwelling animals!

Natural Protection

In the wild Australian bush there are many different elements! From larger animals to storms and intense weather parakeets feathers ensure they have protection in all climates and in all types of weather. Without feathers the parakeet may not be able to survive the harsh cold winter conditions and the bombardment of hail and rain.

Feathers are water resistant due to a protective oil produced in the parakeets body, this prevents parakeets from becoming soaked in heavy rains, this also prevents them from being weighed down by water which can allow them to fly away from larger predators during storms. In the wild the rain doesn't stop bigger animals from hunting.

Business Development Online

It can be very easy or very difficult to start an online business depending on what service or product you are selling online. A couple mainstays of course are twitter.com, Facebook.com, Pinterest.com and your own customized or template-based social media site through an e-commerce host.

There are also over 500 other social media sites, Flickr, Tumblr and numerous others. The trick is to dissect how these sites relate to your business in terms of media groups. Like television stations each social media group has a different defined audience, however this is a little more open sources than television. So your goal is to determine what sites best serve your potential audience. Easier said than done of course.

What you will need is a list of what technologies you want to acquire for your business and rank them according to desire or more importantly functionality to increase the productivity of your online site. Also, just like magazines subscriptions, websites change and their audience can change throughout the year depending on the season. The best thing to do would be to pick 5-10 sites that you believe are relevant to your potential clientele and learn the technologies of each to make that work for your business specifically.

Once you have a defined list you can remove ones best on ineffectiveness of cost/return structures after a trial period. The trial period is up to you and will vary and your goals for effectiveness and actual results achieved. You will have to monitor this on a weekly basis as you can begin to understand trends and analyze what works for your site and business and what does not. You can control the direction of your social media plan and develop increased clientele. There are numerous companies that can help you and I would suggest to look locally, consider your costs and the timeline of your specific goals.

A good basic outline is as follows for you social media business development:

Business and Social Media Sites

What are the 5-10 sites that will affect my online business development?

How will I use the specific, individual technological advantage of that site for my business?

What sites will I use in coordination with others and how will this help develop my overall business structure and message?

How long of a test phase am I going to use for each social media site?

When will I know I have reached the target I set out? I.E. How will I quantify it, in terms on numbers or rationality or a "raison d'etre", (meaning)?

Flight Cages For Finches

Flight cages are perfect for the finch owner that doesn't want the expense of providing an aviary, outdoor or indoor, for their birds. Flight cages allow birds to achieve full flight which provides active birds like finches plenty of room for exercise.

Finches are small active birds that need a living environment that allows them plenty of room for activity and exercise. If they are cramped into small cages that doesn't allow them the freedom of movement that they need, they can become stressed, depressed and ill.

Flight cages are meant for multiple birds and they usually come with several perches and feeders. They are much taller and wider than the average birdcage. Flight cages come in many different sizes, colors and prices. Bar spacing is also very important when looking at cages for your birds.

For finches, you want bar spacing to be ¼" to ½" no greater or your finch may injure itself on the bars. The absolute smallest cage for two finch birds would be 16" X 16" X 16". That is the minimum for two birds.

My personal favorite flight cages are:

HQ Flight Bird Cage which measures 62" H X 32" L X 21" D. This is a strong, sturdy cage that weighs in at about 50 lbs and has bar spacing of ½". It comes with 2 breeder boxes doors, 2 plastic dishes and 2 pine perches plus much more. I have house 12 birds in this cage.

HQ Double Flight Bird Cage which measures 62" H X 64" L X 21" D. This cage is double the width of the first cage. This is perfect because finches usually fly laterally not up. This one also has 2 breeder boxes, 2 plastic dishes and 2 pine perches plus much more.

HQ Giant Double Bird Cage which measures 80" H X 80" L X 40" D. This cage is like a small indoor aviary and believe me your birds will enjoy it! This one comes with 4 feeder doors, 2 breeder doors, 4 stainless steel dishes, and 2 straight pine perches plus much more. This cage can easily house 2-3 dozen finches.

The Caitec flight cage measures 43 ½" L X 32" D X 68" H is another good one. This cage allows your birds plenty of horizontal flight room which of course, is perfect for finches.

These cages range in price from $119 to $649. Yes this is a little pricey but well worth the cost when it comes to caring for your finches. One very important thing to consider when buying a cage for your birds is space. Not just for the birds, but for nest, dishes and toys. Remember, each pair will need a nest and there should be room for food and water dishes in the cage. You don't need to fill the cage with toys just a couple of toys at a time will be fine for your finches. So when deciding on what size cage you need for your birds, be sure to keep in mind everyday items your birds will need to have added to the cage.

The 'Now' and 'Then' of CTR Rings

The CTR rings symbolize faith and belief and are used by the Latter Days Saints (LDS) of the Church of the Jesus Christ to spread the message to do the right and act righteously. CTR stands for "Choose The Right" which is written on a green shield. It is a motto or a saying which is used to teach the young children to choose the right path. Children and even elders succumb to their desires and temptations easily and are likely to forget the teachings they are preached with. The CTR rings are worn by these children with the purpose of reminding them to follow and do the right and keep away from their temptations.

There is an interesting and a very profound history of the existence of these rings. A CTR ring was recommended to be introduced as an official teaching substance for the young. This process of introduction of the CTR rings was governed by a team of eight women belonging to the Latter Day Saints church. The reason for introducing a ring that symbolizes faith and belief of the LDS church was to make something that even the boys could wear. This ring was introduced in the early 1960s when the trend of wearing necklaces by boys was non-existent. They wanted some jewelry that even the boys could wear without any hesitation and at the same time symbolize their belief. Thus, these classic rings were introduced as an insignia of belief of the Latter Days Saints (LDS) people.

They used a green shield over which they wrote CTR for the rings. This green shield was used to symbolize the 'evergreen tree'. The 'evergreen tree' has a religious presence and is known to remain the same or 'evergreen' as per the name suggests, in all the seasons. It was unaffected by any severities of the weather and thus was chosen to be included in the art work of the ring to teach the same to the people wearing these classic rings. The governing board signed a contract with a jewelry company based out of Salt Lake and got the art work of the CTR rings designed by Joel Izzat.

Over a period of time, these classic rings gained immense popularity because of its uniqueness and amazing designs. The symbol of these rings itself got a lot of recognition by the top notch brands which was used on various products. The symbol is so popular that one would now even find numerous products like t - shirts, stationary items, earrings, bookmarks, ties, bracelets and on a lot of designs of the other rings. However as this symbol belongs to the Latter Days Saints (LDS) Church, the manufacturers who use the CTR symbol, pay some royalty to use it on their products.

CTR rings are sold in a large number every year as it is extremely easy to avail it. There are hundreds of unique designs of these classic rings that one can choose from. One can either purchase it from a retail store near to one's location or can easily choose and order it online.

Getting the Best From Pastoral Counselling

Retirement gave me the opportunity to look back and see more clearly what worked and what didn't. Busy with the everyday comings and goings of running the show, The priorities was usually fixing what was going wrong, or looked as if it was about to go off the rails. As for the rest the dictum "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" was my guiding rule.

My own work had two streams in it, laid down by the Bishop when appointing me. The theoretical base was what differentiated the two tasks. One was theological at base, the other medical, therapeutic. The difficulty was blending the two.

I needed to be very clear about what I was doing. Counselling parishioners had very different nuances when compared to working the private practice which resulted from the Bishop's commission. "Freelance your own way" was what he wanted and what I strove to provide.

This was not helped by the emphasis by BAC (the British Association for Counselling, noe the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) which regarded office-based counselling, as in some ways definitive for everyone. In parish life, as in life in the workplace, it was not possible always to accept the insistence of BAC that there be only formal relationships between counsellor and those being counselled, anything informal being regarded as a "no-go area". To their credit, it was probably necessary as BAC sought to establish a full-time, paid, counselling profession

Pastoral counselling, the work of the parish priest or minister as against "centre-based" or "office-based" counselling derives from both the traditional church stream and the psychological insights of the period from the late 19th century to the mid-twentieth century. Its root is described in the Book of Common Prayer as "the ministry of God's holy Word" which with the benefit of absolution, together with ghostly counsel and advice" leads "to the quieting of... conscience, and avoiding of all scruple and doubtfulness" - here in the precise context of worthiness to receive the Holy Communion.

It is set also within the social context of establishing a healthy congregation. In his or her priestly formation the Church of England minister is "to forsake and set aside (as much as you may) all worldly cares and studies!" This places limits on the study of present-day counselling methods and skills for the pastoral counsellor. It suggests that the politically correct must be subsumed under the theologically correct and be compatible with the teaching of Holy Scripture.

Ministers need to take care and to make this distinction. Counselling parishioners has a different context to office based counselling. Many clergy undertake training with BAC accredited organisations. Having done so, it is very important to be clear as to whether you are operating as a pastor, with its social context, or an independent counsellor with no social context.
